Greeting from Mr. Ambassador

Education is the cornerstone for building strong and resilient nations.  Your efforts will not just benefit your own lives, but the lives of those in your community and in the wider Asia-Pacific region. Australia is proud to work closely with Indonesia and its universities to ensure the next generation will be one of continued prosperity and cooperation between our two countries.

I wish the students and faculty of Widya Mandala Catholic University all the very best in their academic pursuits.

Paul Grigson
Australian Ambassador

This greeting  – received a day prior to the visit – is Mr.Ambassador’s reply to the email written by one of the English Department’s students, Indra Susanto.

As an alumnus of Monash University, Melbourne, I am truly honored to know about your visit to our campus. The scholarship from your country has enabled me to have a quality education that assists me to give it back to our students and gives me strong foundation for my present study in the U.S.. My experience of teaching Bahasa Indonesia at a local school in Melbourne also makes me realize how Australians really respect our culture and eagerly want to be good neighbors. I do believe that the strong ties between Australia and Indonesia, especially with our university, would attract more faculty and students for doing further study in Australia.

    Warm greetings from Ohio

I went to Canberra in 2011 for the Asia Pacific Week (APW) at ANU. Engaging in discussions with scholars and students from Asia Pacific countries was such a great experience. Education, I believe, will connect people and and allow them to grow personally and professionally.

    Warms regards from Bloomington, Indiana
